CATHOLIC SPECIAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (SRE) ENROLLING PROCESS
When enrolling your child at school, you will be asked (on the enrolment form) whether you wish your child to participate in Special Religious Education (SRE). In our Diocese, we have Catechists who teach SRE at many public schools. When you complete the form, you need to do so, indicating that you wish your child to receive Special Religious Education (SRE), and nominate the Catholic faith.
In opting for your child to participate in SRE lessons, your child will not miss any other teaching time by attending that class. Students who do not avail themselves of SRE are supervised in some other activity which is not curriculum related.
